This place is laughable. You are charged $130 to take the skyrail and the train to get here. Both are nice but not $130 nice, maybe $50 or $60.

Then you get here and it's just a "shopping mall". You have to pay separately to see all the animals. $20 for each set: koalas and kangaroos, butterflies, birds.....and whatever else they have available. You can easily pay an additional $60 just to see a few scraggly animals.

There weren't many koalas here despite your being charged $20 to see them. The 2 stars are for the folks doing the koala pics (an additional $22).

Do yourself a favor and stop by Australia zoo. Nothing else in the country comes close. I visited Australia specifically for Australia zoo and wasn't disappointed.

Admission fee is reasonable, especially when done as a combo with the bird and butterfly parks nearby. Biggest highlight is opportunity to cuddle a koala and get your photo taken. Koala interaction costs a bit (about $20/person) on top of the admission, but is well worth it. You get a nice quality photo print, and the staff will also allow you to use your phone or camera to take a few extra shots. Husband and I both paid for the interaction, so they took individual shots for our included prints, and then used my cell so we could have a few together. Keepers were very friendly and knowledgeable about the animals.

Awesome experience. Highly recommend especially if you have kids. You can pat koalas and kangaroos! Everything is up close and very kid friendly!

If you go to Cairns, you should absolutely visit Kuranda and hold a koala. Life time memory for me! Good value for the money. The keeper and the koala looked like best friends. And the koala was super nice to cuddle. We did also get a picture of me and my husbond when I was holding the koala, no extra cost.

So much fun! We loved getting up close with the Koalas, and wallabies. We got to feed the wallabies and hold the Koalas. I was happy to learn that the Koalas only work about 30 minutes a day for 3 days and then they get to rest.
